The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has commenced the process to develop a master plan for Yarra Park.

Yarra Park is one of Melbourne’s premier public parklands, it also provides the setting for the major sporting facilities of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and the Richmond Cricket Ground/Punt Road Oval. Together, the parkland and surrounding facilities provide important social, economic and environmental benefits to Victorians. Yarra Park also has a significant indigenous cultural heritage and is noted for its landscape and sporting heritage. 

The masterplan will provide a framework for the sustainable future use, management, and renewal of Yarra Park to ensure its long term viability, whilst continuing to respond to the current needs of the Park and its function as a multi-purpose recreational resource. The key 

Conversation Co is thrilled to lead the community engagement aspect of the master plan development and we have been busy “popping-up” at Yarra Park to talk to local residents and visitors about what they would like to see! There is also an online survey for community members to share their feedback and workshops are planned for early February.
