Greater Dandenong City Council is planning for a community hub in central Dandenong. Community hubs are multi-purpose community facilities providing a range of complementary services in a single accessible location and generally have a range of shared facilities and functions for the community, groups and organisations.

The Council had previously engaged the community to understand the local community’s vision for the Hub, asking participants what sort of facility community wanted, facilities to be included in the hub, and the preferred location for the hub. Architects then developed three concept designs based on community feedback.

Conversation Co has been talking to the Dandenong community to understand their preference of three concept plans. The differences in design for the three options relate to the size of the building, the number of storeys, and the amount of public outdoor space available, however, they all include the same services.

Participants had the option to provide feedback on each concept design as well as advise the Council on which of the three options the community liked best.

Conversation Co

Conversation Co proudly acknowledges and celebrates First Peoples of Australia and their ongoing strength in upholding some of the world's oldest living cultures. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands throughout what is now Victoria – where we live, conduct pop-ups, and engage with our communities – and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present. Conversation Co acknowledges First Peoples' sovereignty has never been ceded. The strength, resilience and pride of First Peoples, their cultures, communities and identities continue to grow and thrive today despite the impact of colonisation and ongoing experiences of racism.
